Aerodynamic analysis of high speed automotives _Part 2

Posted on 29 May 2019 04:43 pm

Auto motives at high speeds are prone to more fuel consumption for two main reasons: 1: Power consumed to maintain the high speed and overcoming road friction (which is unavoidable) 2: Power consumed against the resistance of wind and own speed, (accounts drag resistance) Since the first case is unavoidable, the investigations need to be made on the second case, that is reduction of drag can be made possible by checking where exactly the force is acting on the sections. Hence the model needs to be scaled down from 10:1 for quicker analysis and interpretation of results. The model needs to be analysed in a virtual wind tunnel region with input velocity of 100kmph.
