The Calotest instruments provide quick, simple and inexpensive determination of coating thickness and wear volume of material. Employing the simple ball-cratering method. In the ball cratering test abrasive slurry is dripped into the contact between the ball and the sample shown in Figure. The test sample is clamped onto a platform. A 30mm ball is located between two grooves of shafts and also contact at point of wear testing sample. The shaft is driven by a variable speed dc geared motor shown in Figure. A batch counter is provided to measure and control the number of shaft revolutions.
